Call for participation: TERRA MADRE SALONE DEL GUSTO 2024

The project Fostering Employment and Growth Opportunities (FEGO) in Kosovo is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and implemented by Swisscontact in Kosovo. The project aims to generate employment and income for women, men and youth, who currently live in poverty and socio-economic marginalization. This is intended to be achieved through sustainable and scalable growth of micro/small (family) businesses and start-ups in the clothing, furniture and rural tourism sectors.

Swisscontact, through the FEGO project, is mediating the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the rural tourism sector in Kosovo at the main international festival of Slow Food, Terra Madre Salone del Gusto in Turin, Italy.

Date of travel: September 26 – 29, 2024

Through this initiative, the FEGO project aims to provide SMEs with direct exposure to the principles of sustainable and local food production and provide them with a comprehensive understanding of best practices, business models and cultural dimensions that contribute in the success of the Slow Food movement. The ultimate goal is to influence and enrich the gastronomic offerings in Kosovo by improving menu options and promoting the principles of sustainable and local food production.

Criteria for businesses applying through Swisscontact, the FEGO project, to participate in Slow Food in Turin:

  1. Businesses must be small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Rural Tourism/Agritourism sector chain, registered in Kosovo.
  2. Be committed to promoting sustainable and local principles of food production in their operations.
  3. Preference will be given to businesses that apply sustainable and local production practices (Slow Food).
  4. Be able to cover their travel expenses to the event.
  5.  Knowledge of English or Italian is preferable.

What does the Terra Madre Slow Food fair offer?
