What we do

The project Fostering Employment and Growth Opportunities (FEGO) aims to generate employment and income in the apparel, furniture, and rural tourism sectors for women, men, and youth, presently living in poverty and socio-economic marginalization. The project is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and implemented by Swisscontact in Kosovo.

Up we go. With Apparel.

The project supports small and micro-manufacturing furniture and apparel products businesses for both export and local markets. It facilitates growth in these sectors, strengthening the supporting services and enabling the environment needed for micro and small enterprises to grow.

Furthermore, it enables these micro and small businesses to become more resilient and secure access to local and export markets and strengthens their market linkages with key selling points, including online sales channels, and exporters, with a strong focus on diaspora business networks – by making them part of the overall value chain.

Up we go. With Rural Tourism

The project interventions aim to support local communities living in rural areas, whose micro and small enterprises operate with rural tourism activities, and ensure that these contribute to the communities’ increased local economic development. It aims at the development of rural tourism experiences, strengthening the existing rural tourism micro/small businesses, and promoting the emergence of start-up businesses that follow their suit or complement their offer by supplying hospitality services of accommodation, transport, traditional food-making, sales, or production of crafts, participation in traditional ceremonies or folk-art events, and in-nature activities throughout the year.
